ROMATOID ARTHRITIS IN PREGNANCY

Since patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are usually in childbearing age, it is a common disease associated with pregnancy. When patients with rheumatoid arthritis become pregnant (50-70%), their complaints are frequently reduced, so pregnancy disease shows a healing effect. Generally, the healing of the disease starts from the first months of pregnancy. After childbirth, most patients experience relapse from the first months. In a small number of patients, an increase in complaints during pregnancy can be observed.
Rheumatoid arthritis occurs in approximately 1-2% of adults, it is more common in women than in men.
Not every drug used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis can be used during pregnancy. For this reason, rheumatoid arthritis patients should consult their physicians in terms of their medication before they become pregnant or when they notice pregnancy.
