TRAVEL IN PREGNANCY

The best travel time in pregnancy is between 14-28 weeks. In this period, early pregnancy problems mostly disappeared. In later periods, it is difficult to move and sit for a long time, and the risks of preterm birth have also increased.
Automobile or Bus Journey:
Do not travel more than 5-6 hours a day. Always wear the seat belt in the car and move your seat away from the dashboard as much as possible. Do not deactivate the airbag. The seat belt should not rest on the uterus. One arm should be inserted at the bottom of the hip, and the other arm should be inserted through the breasts.
Try to walk 5 minutes at least every 2 hours during your journey. This leg will prevent clots and swelling in your veins. Have things (such as crackers) to lighten against nausea.
Airplane trip:
There is no inconvenience during pregnancy. If your doctor has not indicated any special drawbacks or bleeding, plane travel can be done, including the first months. Most airlines allow a journey in pregnancy until 1 month before birth. Do not be afraid of metal detectors at airports. These are not harmful to your baby or you. The seat belt must be on at all times. Drinking plenty of fluids can be helpful. Moving your legs from time to time is also important to prevent vascular occlusion due to immobility.
Aircraft companies generally do not accept pregnancies greater than 28 weeks without a doctor's report, even after 36 weeks, they do not.
Cosmic radiation exposed during the flight is far below the dose (20 millisievert - 2 rem) that can harm the baby.
Situations where airplane travel may be inconvenient during pregnancy:
- Pregnancies found to be at high risk of preterm birth
- High blood pressure during pregnancy
- Bleeding during pregnancy
- Those with sickle cell anemia
