BED REST DURING PREGNANCY

During pregnancy, bed rest may be recommended to the expectant mother for various reasons. This bed rest is planned to exclude mandatory needs such as toilet and bathroom, and sometimes to never get out of bed in the form of strict bed rest. In some cases, you may be allowed to stand up, walk, do small things, even for a short time during the day; in some cases these are also not allowed. While bed rest can be applied in the patient's home in some cases, in some cases it should be hospitalized. While bed rest is recommended for several days in some cases, in some cases it may be necessary to apply it for weeks.
With bed rest, the baby's downward weight decreases and the pressure on the cervix decreases, so that conditions such as miscarriage and premature birth can be prevented to some extent.

- Placenta previa
- Decollete placenta
- Oligohydramnios
- Abortion, preterm birth and stillbirth in previous pregnancies
- High blood pressure, preeclampsia
- Diabetes
- Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR)
