Genetic counseling is a service that is aimed at informing
and making decisions to people who are at risk of hereditary or genetic
diseases.
Conditions
requiring genetic counseling for expectant mothers and fathers:
- The age of the mother is over 35, the age of me is over 45
- Chromosomal anomaly in one of the parents
- Congenital anomaly, mental retardation, genetic disease in
previous children or close relatives
- Detection of heterozygosity related to autosomal dominant
or x-linked genetic diseases in at least one of the parents.
- Exposure to teratogenic substances (substances that can
cause anomalies in the baby)
- Those who miscarry 3 or more times
- Those who gave birth to a dead baby before
- Consanguineous marriage
