CRAVING IN PREGNANCY

Craving is used to mean that the expectant mother suffers from excessive amounts of food. It usually starts in the first months of pregnancy, but it can start at any week of pregnancy. It usually decreases or ends in the 3rd - 4th months of pregnancy and may rarely last until later months.
The mother-to-be may over-request chocolate and some other desserts, pickles, plums, various fruits, and various beverages. There is also a condition called pica syndrome, where the mother desires to eat substances such as soil, lime, sand, hair, soap, clay, chalk, matches. In the presence of Pika syndrome, you should immediately contact your doctor.
What is the reason for craving?
It is thought that craving may be related to some reasons such as changing hormone levels during pregnancy, mineral vitamin needs or psychological causes, interest, need for emotional support, but the exact cause is unknown.
Does the craving indicate that the baby is a boy or a girl?
There is sometimes such a false belief among the public. Craving is not related to whether the baby is a girl or a boy. The mother's sweet, sour, salty or any food, beverage substance does not indicate that the baby is a girl or a boy
