CHEMOTHERAPY AND RADIOTHERAPY IN PREGNANCY

Chemotherapy means cancer treatment with medication, and radiotherapy means cancer treatment with radiation. Cancer can also be seen during pregnancy. Among them, cervical, breast and ovarian cancers are most common. Radiotherapy, in other words, irradiation in cancer treatment, can not be given in any period of pregnancy since its harm to the fetus has been proven. Chemotherapy can be given under the control of oncology and obstetricians except the first three months of pregnancy.
