Face presentation is a deflection arrival and the most
advanced deflection state. It occurs in about 2000 births. In the face
presentation, the position of the fetus is defined according to the jaw. The
head entered the pelvis with a submentobregmatic diameter.
Normal delivery is possible if the chin is at the front of
the face (mentum anterior), but normal delivery is not possible if the chin is
at the back (mentum posterior) and cesarean is required. About three quarters
of face presentations are mentum anterior.
