One of the issues that couples are most curious about during
follow-up during pregnancy is how the birth will be. Is it normal birth? A
cesarean section? It will be frequently encountered especially in the last
months of pregnancy. Here, it will be explained when it will be clear which
method of delivery will take place.
How many
weeks will the birth be determined?
Whether the birth will take place in the normal way or by
cesarean may not be clear until the last day or even the last moment in most
pregnancies. In a completely normal-looking pregnancy, a caesarean section may
be required suddenly due to a baby's progression in the way of birth, or
changes in the heartbeat, and it is not always possible to predict such conditions.
It is generally not correct to state an opinion about how the birth will be
until the last month of pregnancy. For example, it is common for the baby to
turn in the womb until the last month, but it rarely returns as the baby has
grown in the last month. Until the last day of pregnancy, it can never be said
that a normal birth can be precisely and some changes may occur at any time.
However, in the last weeks of pregnancy (between 37-38-39-40 weeks), an
estimate can be made about the normal postpartum of the baby by looking at the
baby's posture, weight, and the shape of the birth path during the examination.
However, there are some situations in which it can be known
that normal delivery will not occur and cesarean delivery will be necessary
before the birth weeks approach: For example, in twin and triplet pregnancies
(sometimes there may be normal birth), in some cases where the baby's water is
very low and the heartbeat is irregular, In case of excessive excess, cesarean
section is preferred for those who had previous cesarean surgery or uterine
surgery, such as if the placenta closes the birth canal. It cannot be said with
certainty that normal delivery cannot occur if the baby is upright or feet
upside down. Because it is possible for the baby to turn back to a flat
position every week of pregnancy. However, as the baby grows, the chance of
returning now decreases, especially in the last month.
