At the 30th week, the baby weighs about 1500 grams and is 25
cm long.
The baby starts breathing exercises using
the diaphragm muscles.
In the 31st week, the testicles descend from the kidneys to
the scrotum in the baby boy, while in the girls, the clitoris still cannot
close the labia. If the baby is born this week, the baby may still need to stay
in intensive care for a long time after the lung development is not completed
and a ventilator may be needed.
A relative decrease in infant movements may be felt at 32
weeks compared to the past. If this is a concern for you, lie on your left and
follow the baby movements. If you feel less than 10 movements within 2 hours,
contact your doctor. Sudden absence in baby movements is a dangerous situation.
In such a situation, contact a healthcare provider immediately. It should be
noted that almost all babies born at 32nd week survive and live a normal life.
8. MONTH
CHANGES IN THE MOTHER
Heart rate increases by 20% compared to the previous one, due
to the pressure of your ever-growing baby on the large vessels in the abdomen,
views with vascular pink colored radial extensions, hemorrhoids may occur,
which we call varices, spider veins. All of these counts are either completely
reduced or lost a few weeks after birth.
In addition, due to the increase in blood flow, half of the
pregnant women may experience swelling of the eyelids and face in the morning.
Due to the increase in progesterone known as the pregnancy hormone, respiratory
rate and depth increase, which allows you to meet the increased oxygen demand.
Again, due to hormonal causes, an increase in blood flow and
an increase in milk glands, breasts grow.
The uterus muscles also cause the feeling of false birth
pains during these weeks to prepare for labor. In order to distinguish these
contractions from real birth pain, it is very important to know that real labor
pains do not go away by resting, gradually increasing frequency and severity,
however, it may be accompanied by a dark viscous discharge, bleeding or water
coming from the vagina. Because painful and regular contractions before 37
weeks may be a sign of preterm labor.
Again, urinary incontinence may occur due to the pressure of
the uterus on the urinary tract and sac, especially in cases that increase
intra-abdominal pressure, such as laughing and coughing. All pregnant women
should be careful against the increased risk of urinary tract infections.
Pregnant women with more frequent urination than normal, burning while urinating,
lower abdominal or back pain should contact a healthcare provider immediately.
If urinary tract infection is not noticed, it may damage your kidneys or
provoke premature birth.
Sudden vaginal bleeding during this period may be a sign of
one of the medical emergencies called placenta previa, in case of such
bleeding, contact your doctor immediately.
Pink-colored thick lines and cracks may occur on the abdomen,
upper arms-legs, hips, which are seen in most pregnant women. These lines are
formed due to the stretching of the skin, and the hormone called cortisol,
which increases during pregnancy, weaken the elastic fibers in the skin and
there is no benefit from externally applied creams and oils. Sometimes they
disappear after pregnancy, sometimes there is a scar.
