BIRTH PAIN

Birth pain is a pain that is felt in the abdomen, groin and waist after birth begins and comes and passes at certain intervals. Birth pain differs greatly among women. Some women feel a lot while others feel less, some scream during these pains, sometimes giving birth without even a sound. The difference in the severity of birth pains among individuals results from their sociocultural environment, stories they have heard about before, or a person's pain threshold. The pain threshold ensures that not only birth pain, but all kinds of pain are felt at different intensities among people. However, the most important factor in birth pain is the level of consciousness and knowledge of the mother and her sociocultural environment. Some expectant mothers believe that this pain should be felt very much, and that is how it has learned. Therefore, he feels pain very strongly. Some expectant mothers know that they can give birth by feeling mild and calm, consciously and calmly.
Non-drug methods to reduce the mother's birth pains:
- Moving and standing up during the period when the mother suffers from labor causes pain relief. Keeping the mother steady in the bed on the back prevents pain relief.
- Turning the hips in the bed to the left and right during the pain may decrease the pain.
- The mother's voice, muttering, and moaning also make her to feel low birth pain.
- Listening to music allows the mother to relax, relax and feel the pains slightly.

- Massaging the mother's lower back and tail area reduces pain.
- Massaging the mother's shoulder and waist reduces pain.
- Applying warm wet cloths to the mother's waist reduces pain.
- Taking a shower with hot water reduces pain.
- Focusing on an object in the mother's pain room and concentrating on it makes pain feel mild. This object is a decorative item or wall clock, a tool in the delivery room, etc. can.
- Gently massaging the mother's abdomen reduces pain.
- An assistant who supports the mother during childbirth massages the mother's feet and legs, which reduces pain.
Apart from these, there are breathing exercise techniques for the mother to feel the birth pains and to adapt to them in the best way. The most used of these techniques is Lamaze technique. Breathing exercises not only allow the patient to withstand the pain more easily, but also to relax and provide more blood to the baby.
The mother should wait for the pain to pass by taking a deep and deep breath when the pain comes during birth. In the meantime, it is not correct to breathe very fast. It can cause numbness and contractions in your hands. Try to smile and relax while the pain is decreasing. After the pain has passed, rest until the next pain.
Apart from these, the exercise of the mother during pregnancy (normal exercises, walking, swimming and plates ..) helps her birth to be more comfortable.
