VAGINAL SHOWER IN PREGNANCY

There are also several drawbacks for the vaginal shower (washing the vagina inside after sexual intercourse), which should be avoided due to its inconveniences, such as its predisposition to infection. Some of those:
- It may cause bacteria and other microbial agents to be transported through the vagina into the uterus.
- It may be susceptible to infection by changing the normal ph of the vagina. Such infections can cause complications during pregnancy, such as preterm labor.
- It is stated that air intake may cause air embolism during vaginal shower.
