pregnancy have various harmful effects on the baby. Therefore, smoking should
never be used during pregnancy.
The main
damages that smoking can cause during pregnancy:

In general, babies of smoker mothers are born with a weight
of 200-250 grams less and 1 cm shorter. In addition, babies with low birth
weight have an increased risk of developing a chronic disease and death within
the first month after birth.
In pregnant women who smoke, the probability of miscarriage
and premature birth increases 2 times and the risk of death increases in the
first 1 year after birth.
2nd-5th after birth. “Sudden infant death” is the most
important cause of infant death between months, and this risk increases 2-6
times depending on the number of cigarettes smoked in infants of smoker
mothers.
Respiratory system, nervous system, sensory organs, skin and
urinary tract diseases are more common in children of smoker mothers.
It may cause problems and decreases in breastfeeding and milk
amount of the mother.
In studies conducted, it was observed that hyperactivity,
attention deficit, spelling and reading difficulties were more common in babies
exposed to prenatal smoking. In some studies, it has been shown that
intellectual development deficiency and some behavioral disorders are more
common in these babies.
In addition, many health problems are more common in children
who are exposed to smoke due to smokers around after birth.
