Ache:
Immediately after the abortion procedure (whether under local
anesthesia or general anesthesia), pain in the groin occurs in the form of
menstrual pain. The pain begins to decrease from the first hours and after the
first day, a slight pain is felt that will not bother much. Sometimes, even
after the first day, there is no pain. Painkillers will be prescribed after the
abortion procedure.
Bleeding or
spotting:
There will be some amount (as much as menstrual bleeding)
during and immediately after the bleeding abortion procedure. After the
abortion, it will decrease as the hours pass and after the first day, bleeding
occurs less than menstrual or in the form of spotting. Bleeding ends in a total
of 3-5 days at most in a week. Some patients do not have any bleeding after the
abortion day, which is a normal condition. No medication is needed to reduce
bleeding, it will decrease spontaneously over time. If your bleeding does not
decrease or increase as the days pass, definitely consult your doctor again. If
the bleeding has not stopped within a week, you should consult your doctor.
Excessive bleeding may be a sign of remaining parts. In this case, with a
little intervention, the part will be cleaned and bleeding will stop.
Nausea -
vomiting:
They are very rare complaints during or after an abortion.
Normally it is not seen later in the days and days, so you should consult your
doctor in case of complaints such as nausea and vomiting. If the abortion
procedure will be performed under local anesthesia, the procedure may not
prevent such complaints.
Menstrual
delay (not being menstrual) and menstrual irregularity:
The first menstruation after an abortion usually appears
after 30-40 days. Subsequent menstruation occurs often, varying according to
the person's menstrual pattern before abortion. Abortion does not cause
menstrual irregularity. The patient continues to see the customs before the
abortion somehow after the abortion.
Discharge,
itching and odor:
They are rarely seen complaints after abortion. During an
abortion procedure, cleaning the vagina and cervix with an antiseptic solution
can disrupt the vagina flora and cause discharge (vaginitis). In this case, the
patient complains of yellow, green, brown, foul-smelling discharge, and
sometimes itching. If the discharge is observed in the examination after your
abortion, this complaint will be corrected with the medication given in the
form of tablets or vaginal insert.
Fire:
Normally, there is no fever after abortion, but if endometritis
or another infection develops, fever may develop 1-2 days after the procedure.
Apart from these, complaints such as diarrhea, constipation,
headache, flank pain, stomach pain are not related to the abortion procedure.
