False labor pains are called "Braxton Hicks
contractions". These begin in the last trimester (after the 6th month)
during pregnancy, but can be seen earlier (after the 4th month). These false
pains do not cause opening and birth in the uterus, but must be distinguished
from real pain.
- False pains are irregular, they do not come at fixed
intervals, you can not predict that they will come in advance. Real birth
pains, on the other hand, come regularly and disappear at the same intervals.
- The frequency and severity of false birth pains do not
increase gradually. Real labor pains become more frequent and their severity
increases.
- False pains go through changing your position or moving,
but not real pains.
- Real pains last between 30 and 60 seconds. The duration of
false pain varies greatly each time, usually shorter (15-20 seconds).
- False pains are more disturbing than painful.
When you feel this kind of false pain, lie down and rest, or
if you are already lying, get up and walk a little. Drink plenty of water
because water drops in the body can also cause these contractions. However, if
these pains do not go away, you should consult a doctor.
